Job Description
EgyBell is hiring Electrical Testing Engineer for a leading firm in the field of energy and power systems located in Cairo.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Testing & Commissioning
Perform testing and commissioning for MV/HV substation equipment including: Power Transformers, Switchgear (MVSG/GIS/AIS), Protection Relays , Circuit Breakers, CTs, VTs and Cables (Insulation & Hi-Pot tests& VLF)
Execute functional, primary, and secondary injection testing.
All commissioning activities.
Conduct protection relay configuration and setting verification (Siemens, ABB, Schneider, NR, GE, etc.).
Test and validate control, and communication systems.
2. Site Activities
Prepare daily progress reports and test sheets.
Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and clients during testing activities.
Support troubleshooting of equipment failures and abnormal readings.
Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and maintained.
3. Technical Documentation
Prepare test reports, commissioning reports, and punch lists.
Review drawings (SLD, protection schemes, logic diagrams).
Ensure compliance with IEC standards and project specifications.
4. Safety & Quality
Follow company HSE policies and site safety rules.
Ensure all testing activities are executed safely and accurately.
Participate in quality audits and corrective actions when required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Power Engineering.
2–5 years’ experience in substation testing and commissioning.
Strong knowledge of MV/HV equipment and protection systems.
Hands-on experience with relay testing equipment (OMICRON / Megger / ISA).
Ability to read electrical drawings and interpret protection schemes.
Good command of English (reading/reporting).
Ability to work under pressure and travel to project sites.
Experience in 66/220/500 kV substations is a strong advantage. (Preferred)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Professional behavior with clients and contractors.
