Job Description

EgyBell is hiring a Hardware Engineer for a leading Tech-based & E-Mobility Solutions provider.

This role is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in electronics and a passion for sustainable technology. You will be a crucial part of ensuring our battery swapping stations and batteries are robust, safe, and ready for deployment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Deployment Inspection (PDI):

Conduct comprehensive quality control checks and functional tests on new battery swapping stations and battery packs.

  • Deployment Support:

Assist with the physical installation and configuration of battery swapping stations at various customer sites.

Collaborate with field technicians and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless hardware integration, network setup, and initial system validation.

  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

Perform routine maintenance and preventative checks on deployed stations and battery packs to maximize uptime.

Diagnose and resolve hardware faults, including circuit board-level issues, component failures, and system-level malfunctions.

Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes to isolate and troubleshoot problems efficiently.

  • In-house Repair & Rework:

Execute precision repairs on returned units, including soldering and de-soldering of electronic components.

Perform component-level rework and thorough testing to restore units to a fully operational state.

  • Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain records of all PDI, deployment, and repair activities in internal systems.

Contribute to the creation and refinement of technical documentation, repair logs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on experience in a hardware-focused role, with a background in electronics, power systems, or related fields.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of batteries, particularly lithium-ion chemistries, and associated Battery Management Systems (BMS).
  • Good knowledge of embedded systems and hardware design.
  • Skills in manual soldering and de-soldering techniques.
  • Skilled in using electronic diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies for fault isolation.
  • Practical experience troubleshooting both hardware and related embedded software issues.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
