Job Description

EgyBell is hiring a Pre-Sales Engineer for multinational telecommunications equipment company.

Main responsibilities

  • The Technical Sales Engineer/Pre-Sales Engineer plays a key role within the company, combining in-depth technical skills with commercial and sales skills.
  • They are responsible for promoting and selling the company’s technical products or services by providing pre-sales technical support to sales staff and developing lasting relationships with customers.
  • This engineer acts as a link between product managers, R&D and customers, thereby contributing to the achievement of the company’s sales and growth objectives.

Key activities – N1

  • Provide product and technology training to salespeople and partners. Act as a technical expert to convince customers during contract negotiations.
  • Help customers express their needs, gather and analyse them. This enables customers to draw up their specifications.
  • Participate in the sales process and draft a technical description of customer expectations (including the statement of work). Provide comprehensive technical support to sales representatives to assist them during the various phases of the sales process (prototype, demonstration, documentation, etc.) and help them respond to calls for tenders.
  • Use this information to develop a product architecture with inherent sizing (including the bill of materials); in other words, determine the number of machines, software licences, etc., in order to determine the price of the offer.
  • Work more in the back office and in tandem with the team than independently. Attend customer meetings with your team and manager.
  • Monitor technology and competition.
  • In projects, be able to analyse the current situation and prioritise potential areas for improvement.
  • Know how to use the right office tools to produce effective content (reports and presentations to clients). Speak and write in fluent professional English.

Significant activities – N2

  • Demonstrate real autonomy on a daily basis.
  • Support sales staff in front of customers by demonstrating products and explaining the benefits of the offer and the choices available.
  • Work more closely with sales representatives during the various stages of the sales process.
  • Monitor technological and economic developments, present solution models as a more compelling visual for customers, and analyse the needs of prospects in order to offer the most suitable solution.
  • Develop advanced expertise in the target market and upcoming technological trends.
  • Deliver high-level technical presentations (solutions, products and technologies) during webinars/customer seminars. Conduct customer meetings independently.
  • In projects, adapt the implementation of instructions to the context and characteristics of the project.

Significant activities – N3

  • Demonstrate product and market expertise.
  • Providing mentoring, i.e. anticipating the customer’s needs in relation to technical developments in the market and offering them prospects for future use of the product.
  • Be able to carry out a complete PoC (Proof of Concept) at the customer’s premises.
  • Be able to lead technical discussions and/or complex projects in English.

Required knowledge for the job

  • University degree in technical or commercial engineering, technical sciences or a related field.
  • Relevant professional experience in a role combining technical and commercial skills, preferably as a technical sales engineer/pre-sales engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of Telco 2G & 4/5G
  • Ideally an experience in MCx
  • Strong (technical) interaction with customers & suppliers
  • Experience in Drive Testing would be a plus
  • Ability to travel frequently to clients’ premises, internationally.
  • Ability to understand and explain technical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet and exceed sales targets and to work independently.
