Job Description

EgyBell is hiring a Project Manager for a leading energy and power systems company.

Work location: Sudan

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owner Representation & Governance: Act as the single point of contact representing the Owner on all project-related matters.
  • Ensure the project is executed in line with the Owner’s objectives, contractual requirements, and approved scope.
  • Coordinate between the Owner, EPC contractor, authorities, lenders (if applicable), and other stakeholders.
  • Project Control & Monitoring: Review and approve EPC project execution plans, schedules, and progress reports.
  • Monitor project milestones, critical paths, and overall progress against the approved baseline schedule.
  • Identify delays or risks and recommend corrective actions to the Owner.
  • Engineering Oversight: Review and comment on engineering deliverables including design drawings, calculations, specifications, and data sheets.
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards, grid codes, and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces between PV plant systems and grid connection facilities.
  • Construction Supervision: Oversee construction activities to verify compliance with approved designs, specifications, and method statements.
  • Monitor site progress, manpower, and construction quality without assuming EPC responsibilities.
  • Witness inspections, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and site acceptance tests (SAT) as required.
  • Quality, HSE & Compliance: Monitor implementation of Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and HSE plans by the EPC contractor.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, environmental permits, and safety standards.
  • Report non-conformities and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
  • Contract & Commercial Administration: Support the Owner in administering the EPC contract in accordance with FIDIC or applicable contractual framework.
  • Review EPC contractor claims, variations, extensions of time (EOT), and payment certificates.
  • Provide recommendations to the Owner on contractual and commercial matters.
  • Testing, Commissioning & Handover: Oversee testing and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with contractual performance guarantees.
  • Verify completion of punch lists and readiness for provisional and final acceptance.
  • Review as-built documentation, O&M manuals, and final handover packages.
  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare weekly and monthly project status reports for the Owner.
  • Lead progress meetings, coordination meetings, and site meetings.
  • Provide early warning to the Owner on risks, deviations, or potential disputes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Power Engineering.
  • 8–20 years’ experience in project management. (minimum 2 years in PV projects)
  • Strong knowledge of MV/HV equipment and protection systems.
  • Hands-on experience with MS Project software.
  • Very good in English
  • Ability to work under pressure and travel to project sites.
