Job Description
Egybell is hiring a Quality Assurance & Quality Control Director for a leading construction company located in the 6th of October city.
Job Summary
The Quality Assurance & Quality Control Director is responsible for establishing, leading, and continuously improving the company-wide Quality Assurance and Quality Control function across all projects. The role ensures that the company’s Quality Management System is effectively implemented and that construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, applicable codes, standards, and company procedures. The Director provides strategic leadership for both preventive quality assurance and site quality control, with a strong focus on reducing defects, rework, NCRs, and quality-related risks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the overall Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) function across all company projects.
- Establish and implement company-wide QA/QC policies, procedures, standards, and quality objectives.
- Develop and maintain the company Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 and applicable requirements.
- Supervise and provide direction to QA/QC Managers, Section Heads, Team Leaders, and Engineers.
- Ensure consistent implementation of QA/QC requirements across all projects.
- Review and approve Project Quality Plans, ITPs, procedures, inspection checklists, and quality strategies.
- Establish preventive quality systems to identify potential quality risks before construction activities commence.
- Monitor site quality control activities, inspections, material compliance, testing, and workmanship.
- Review major and recurring NCRs and ensure proper Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Actions, and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Monitor quality KPIs, trends, audit findings, NCRs, defects, and rework across all projects.
- Lead internal quality audits and oversee preparation for Client, Consultant, and external audits.
- Ensure that lessons learned and quality improvement initiatives are captured and implemented across projects.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Technical Office, Construction, Commercial, Procurement, Planning, and Project Management departments regarding quality risks and requirements.
- Provide high-level technical and quality support during tendering and pre-construction stages.
- Lead high-level discussions with Clients, Consultants, and other stakeholders regarding critical quality matters.
- Establish training and competency development programs for QA/QC personnel and site teams.
- Prepare periodic quality performance reports and present major risks, trends, and improvement plans to Executive Management.
- Promote a company-wide Quality Culture and ensure quality is considered a shared responsibility across all functions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil / architectural engineering or relevant discipline.
- Years of Experience: 20+ years of experience in construction QA/QC, including significant managerial and leadership experience. Extensive experience in residential and building construction projects.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001, QA/QC procedures, ITPs, inspections, testing, and construction standards. Strong knowledge of NCR management, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective and Preventive Actions, and quality audits. Strong understanding of project specifications, contracts, drawings, codes, and construction methodologies.
- Skills: Excellent leadership, strategic planning, decision-making, and organizational skills. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Proven ability to manage QA/QC functions across multiple projects simultaneously. Strong analytical capability with the ability to identify trends and convert quality data into improvement actions.
