Job Description
EgyBell is hiring a Senior Network & Security Operations Engineer (Fortinet) for a multinational telecommunications company.
- Employment type: Temporary (2 to 4 weeks).
- Work Model: Remote.
Working Requirements
- Flexible working hours. (8 hours a day)
- Ability to support multiple time zones as part of a global roster.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced operational environment and support critical customer activities.
Overview
We are looking for experienced Network & Security Engineers to provide operational support for a strategic customer environment. The role is customer-facing and requires strong Fortinet expertise, troubleshooting capabilities, and experience implementing complex firewall changes in production environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, ICT, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Network & Security Operations.
- Fortinet FortiGate skills (7 to 10 years of experience).
- Experience working in customer-facing support or managed services environments.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- FortiGate Firewalls
- FortiManager
- FortiAnalyzer
- Strong troubleshooting skills in enterprise Fortinet environments.
- Experience supporting customers during:
- Change implementation
- Change assessment
- Pre-validation and post-validation activities
- Strong understanding of:
- Routing
- NAT
- Security policies
- VPN technologies
- SD-WAN architectures
- Experience managing security vulnerabilities through firmware upgrades, patches, and vendor-recommended workarounds.
Change Management Experience
Candidates should be capable of implementing and troubleshooting standard and complex Fortinet changes, including:
- Firewall policy changes
- NAT and routing modifications
- VPN configuration changes
- VDOM creation and management
- Explicit Proxy configuration and policy changes
- SD-WAN configuration and troubleshooting
- Firmware upgrades and security patch deployment
- Security hardening and vulnerability remediation
Soft Skills
- Strong customer communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage directly with customers during troubleshooting and change activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Certifications: Fortinet FCP/FCSS, NSE4/NSE5/NSE7, or equivalent Fortinet certifications.
