Job Description
Egybell is hiring a Senior Test Engineer for a multinational telecommunications company.
Requirements:
- Advanced Python scripting – building and maintaining test automation frameworks (not just writing scripts): reusable test libraries, fixtures, and CI-integrated suites.
- Ability to design automated test frameworks that validate protocol behavior, packet-processing pipelines, and service/API boundaries end-to-end.
- Experience with traffic generation/replay tools (e.g. tcpreplay) and packet capture/analysis tools (Wireshark) for functional and regression testing of protocol state machines.
- Load and performance testing experience – benchmarking throughput/latency under sustained traffic.
- Experience with Napatech (or comparable SmartNIC) capture hardware for generating and validating high-speed test traffic.
- CI/CD experience with Atlassian Bamboo – integrating automated suites into build pipelines, triggering/monitoring runs, reporting results.
- Docker container experience – standing up and debugging test environments inside containers.
- Infrastructure-as-code exposure (Ansible/Terraform) – provisioning repeatable RHEL test environments.
- Test case design and defect tracking (Jira) – clear, reproducible bug reports and maintained regression suites.
- Ability to translate technical specifications and requirements into test plans that catch edge cases before release.
- Uses AI assistants (Claude, Copilot, or equivalent) for test case generation, test script authoring, and documentation – with review discipline.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken, it’s a must
- 6 to 8 years of experience as a Test Engineer or in a similar position
Preferred qualifications:
• Exposure to telecom/network protocol domain work and experience with mobile core network signaling protocols across 2G/3G/4G (SS7/MAP, Diameter, GTP-C/GTP-U).
• Enough C/C++ fluency to read the codebase under test and understanding what the code is doing.
• Familiarity with profiling tools (perf, valgrind) to help distinguish functional bugs from performance regressions.
• Prior experience testing network probes, DPI systems, or similar telecom infrastructure.
• Meticulous and detail-oriented.
• Strong ownership and accountability – follows through without being chased.
• Collaborative team player who communicates clearly and effectively.
